MemoHoney Ingredients: The Seven Lines in Each Capsule

Written by the MemoHoney editorial team · Last updated · 9 min read · Medical review below

Quick answerEach MemoHoney capsule lists seven ingredients, each with its own printed amount.

Arginine (200 mg base plus 200 mg AKG), citrulline (100 mg HCl plus 100 mg malate), beta-alanine 40 mg, niacin 7.5 mg NE and calcium 18 mg. No honey is listed.

Which seven ingredients does a MemoHoney capsule print?

The Supplement Facts panel prints seven ingredients, each with its own amount. Five are amino acids. The remaining two are niacin, a B vitamin, and calcium, a mineral.

Tap any card below to open its full page. Arginine, citrulline, beta-alanine and niacin each have one. Calcium is covered further down this page.

The amounts are the same on every capsule. You take one a day, so the card amount is also your daily amount. The retyped panel and the label image are on the Supplement Facts page.

Amino acids

Where do the 640 mg of amino acids go?

640 mgof amino acids in each capsule (the five lines added up)
  1. L-Arginine (base) 200 mg
  2. L-Arginine AKG 2:1 Extract 200 mg
  3. L-Citrulline HCl 100 mg
  4. L-Citrulline Malate 100 mg
  5. Beta Alanine 40 mg
  6. Niacin 7.5 mg NE
  7. Calcium 18 mg
Every amount is printed on the label, line by line; there is no hidden blend. Part of each salt form's weight is the carrier (AKG, HCl or malate), not the amino acid itself.

Add the five amino acid lines and you get 640 mg. Arginine takes the largest share at 400 mg. Citrulline comes next at 200 mg. Beta-alanine is the smallest at 40 mg.

This is not a proprietary blend. A blend prints one total and hides the split. Here, each line stands on its own, so nothing is hidden.

Name vs label

Why is there no honey in MemoHoney?

Inside MemoHoney brand graphic naming L-arginine, L-arginine AKG, L-citrulline HCl, L-citrulline malate, niacin and beta-alanine

Honey is not on the label. It is not on the sales page either. The name and the honeycomb pattern on the bottle are design choices.

The brand graphic shown here names six items: two arginine forms, two citrulline forms, niacin and beta-alanine. None of them come from bees.

If you wanted a honey product, this is not one. Our page on the honey question walks through the name, the logo and the label side by side.

Salt forms

What do the AKG, HCl and malate parts mean?

Read from the printed Supplement Facts panel. The label does not print how much of each salt is the carrier.
Label linePrinted amountCarrierWhat that means for the weight
L-Arginine (base)200 mgNone: free-form arginineAll of the weight is arginine
L-Arginine AKG 2:1 Extract200 mgAlpha-ketoglutarate (AKG)Part of the weight is the carrier
L-Citrulline HCl100 mgHydrochloride (HCl)HCl adds a little weight of its own
L-Citrulline Malate100 mgMalic acid (malate)Part of the weight is the carrier
Beta Alanine40 mgNoneAll of the weight is beta-alanine

Three lines are salts. The amino acid is joined to a second molecule that helps it dissolve or keeps it stable. The printed weight counts both parts.

So the 200 mg AKG line gives less than 200 mg of arginine. The same goes for the two citrulline salts. The L-arginine page and the L-citrulline page explain each form.

Vitamin and sports amino acid

What do beta-alanine and niacin add?

Beta-alanine is a sports ingredient. Gym studies used 4 to 6 g a day to raise carnosine in muscle (Trexler et al., ISSN 2015). The label lists 40 mg, a tiny slice of that. See the beta-alanine page for the full picture.

Niacin is vitamin B3. The capsule gives 7.5 mg NE, which is 47% of the Daily Value. Daily needs for adults run 14 to 16 mg NE, and the upper limit from supplements is 35 mg (NIH ODS, Niacin).

That makes the niacin one of the few lines near a meaningful daily amount. The niacin page covers flushing and other B3 products.

Calcium

Calcium: the line most lists leave out

The label prints calcium as calcium carbonate, 18 mg per capsule. That is 1.5% of the Daily Value. Most adults should get 1,000 to 1,200 mg a day, largely from meals (NIH ODS, Calcium).

So 18 mg barely moves the needle. Why it made the cut is never explained on the bottle. It is still a real ingredient, and it belongs on any list you show your pharmacist.

Compared on October 13, 2026. When lists disagree, the printed label wins.

Worth one line on your medicine list

Some calcium supplements need spacing from certain medicines, such as thyroid pills or some antibiotics. At 18 mg the amount is small, but tell your pharmacist it is there (NIH ODS, Calcium).

Other ingredients

What else is in the capsule?

Three non-nutrient items finish the label: a hypromellose shell, vegetable stearate and silicon dioxide. The hypromellose is the plant-based shell. Vegetable stearate usually helps the powder flow during filling, and silicon dioxide is commonly used against clumping.

None of the three is an active ingredient. None of them is honey, sugar or a sweetener. The label does not list any allergen statement.

Food first

Does food give you more of these nutrients than the capsule?

Sliced oranges, grapefruit and kiwi
A balanced plate of fresh fruit, shown as an illustration of everyday eating. It is not a claim about what is in the capsule.

For most of the seven lines, yes. Ordinary protein foods supply arginine every day. A normal diet supplies most of the niacin and calcium adults need.

A capsule cannot replace meals. If your appetite has dropped, or you skip meals, mention it to your doctor. Poor eating can affect energy and thinking on its own.

Honest note

Honest note: how do these amounts compare with studies?

Every amount is printed on the label, line by line; there is no hidden blend. Part of each salt form's weight is the carrier (AKG, HCl or malate), not the amino acid itself.
IngredientMemoHoney (per serving)Doses used in studiesGapSource
L-Arginine400 mg listed (200 mg base + 200 mg AKG form)1.66 g twice a day in a small memory trial; 4-24 g a day in blood pressure trialsAbout 12% of the 3.3 g memory-trial dose(Mone et al., 2022)
L-Citrulline200 mg listed (100 mg HCl + 100 mg malate)Gram doses in blood pressure trialsA small fraction(Khalaf et al., 2019)
Beta Alanine40 mg4-6 g a day in sports studiesAbout 1% of 4 g(Trexler et al., ISSN 2015)

Calcium18 mgAdults need 1,000-1,200 mg a dayUnder 2%(NIH ODS, Calcium)

Every amount is clearly printed. Even so, the amino acids sit far below the doses used in research. The capsule has never been tested in a published trial. An NIH center also notes that direct evidence for supplements preventing dementia is lacking (NCCIH, Supplements for cognitive function).

Safety

Which readers need a doctor's view on these ingredients?

Heart and blood pressure medicines

Arginine and citrulline may lower blood pressure. With blood pressure drugs, nitrates such as nitroglycerin, or ED pills such as sildenafil, the drop could be too much (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine) (WebMD, L-citrulline). Heart attack survivors given arginine in the VINTAGE MI trial saw no gain and more deaths (Schulman et al., JAMA 2006).

FAQ

Ingredient questions about MemoHoney, answered

What goes into a MemoHoney capsule?

Arginine twice over (plain and AKG), citrulline twice over (HCl and malate), then beta-alanine, niacin and calcium. Hypromellose forms the shell; vegetable stearate and silicon dioxide help the powder run.

Is any honey hidden among the MemoHoney ingredients?

Honey does not appear on the printed label or on the sales page. The name and the honeycomb design are branding, not an ingredient.

How much L-arginine does one MemoHoney capsule hold?

The label prints 400 mg across two lines: 200 mg of plain arginine and 200 mg of arginine AKG. Part of the AKG line is the carrier, so the pure arginine is a bit under 400 mg.

Are any MemoHoney amounts hidden in a proprietary blend?

No. Every line carries its own milligram figure. You can add them up and compare each one with study doses.

Why does MemoHoney list two kinds of arginine and two kinds of citrulline?

The label does not say why. Using a plain form plus a salt form is common in workout formulas; the salt forms are bonded to AKG, HCl or malate.

Why do some MemoHoney ingredient lists leave out calcium?

The brand pack and the sales page each name six items and skip calcium. The printed label shows seven lines, including 18 mg of calcium carbonate.

Will 40 mg of beta-alanine make my skin tingle?

It is unlikely. Tingling shows up at gram doses in sports studies, and 40 mg is about 1% of the low end of that range.

Does the niacin in MemoHoney make your face flush?

Flushing is linked to 30 mg or more of nicotinic acid. The label lists 7.5 mg NE, well under that level, though people taking other niacin products should add up the total.

Can I take MemoHoney if I take blood pressure pills?

Ask your doctor first. Both arginine and citrulline can lower blood pressure, and the effect may stack with blood pressure drugs, nitrates and ED pills.

Can vegetarians take the MemoHoney capsule?

The shell is a vegetable capsule made of hypromellose, and the stearate is listed as vegetable. The label makes no vegan or vegetarian claim, so ask the order desk if that matters to you.
